What is the Daily Sudoku?
The Daily Sudoku is a fresh 9Ă—9 puzzle published every day at midnight UTC. Each puzzle is uniquely numbered from launch, creating a persistent timeline you can track and share.
Your streak counter tracks consecutive days completed. Unlike practice mode, each daily is a shared experience—everyone worldwide solves the same puzzle on the same day.
Difficulty by Weekday
Daily Sudoku follows a predictable difficulty curve throughout the week, ramping up from Monday to Saturday, then resetting for Sunday:
- Monday
Easy - Gentle start
- Tuesday
Easy - Warm-up continues
- Wednesday
Medium - Midweek challenge
- Thursday
Medium - Continues climbing
- Friday
Hard - Week-end challenge
- Saturday
Hard - Peak difficulty
- Sunday
Easy - Reset and relax
This curve gives beginners reliable easy days while challenging experienced solvers at week's end. If you miss a day, you can always go back—dailies remain playable forever.
How to Play
Fill the 9Ă—9 grid so each row, column, and 3Ă—3 box contains all digits 1-9 without repetition. The puzzle provides some filled cells (givens) to start. Easy puzzles have 35-40 givens; Hard puzzles have 25-28.
Start by scanning for cells where only one digit is possible. Use elimination: check which digits already appear in each cell's row, column, and box. If multiple candidates remain, use Notes Mode to pencil them in.
The Check button highlights conflicts. The Hint system explains logical next steps without spoiling the solution. Your timer pauses when you switch tabs.
Progress saves locally using IndexedDB—no account needed. Solve consecutive dailies to build your streak. Past dailies remain playable forever.
